Sabha Logo

KHANDA in a pentagon with a striking combination of blue and yellow. This logo has captured the hearts and minds of many Sikhs around the world. We introduce to you the logo of Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia (SNSM), an organisation blessed with vibrant and dedicated band of volunteers, support of the community, and surely, the blessings of the Creator.

The SNSM, which began its activities in 1963 before being officially registered in 1967, embraced the logo above in 1990. The pentagon is in blue while the khanda – the Sikh insignia – is in yellow.

The khanda is commonly taken to be the Khalsa Nishan, the emblem of the Sikh religion. The yellow represents active discipleship while the blue denotes peace and freedom.

The five sides of the pentagon represent the five principles of the Rukun Negara, the code of conduct for Malaysia.

As a whole, the emblem represents the freedom enjoyed by the disciples of the Sikh Faith to practise their religion in Malaysia, and, upholding the five principles of the Rukun Negara to actively work towards peace, prosperity and harmony amongst fellow Malaysians.
